I did the same thing earlier this year. I not only had an old model Bond, but a Bond chrono as well before buying a 2220.80. I had all three for a short while before selling both the old Bond and the chrono. I sometimes miss my old Bond, as it had some sentimental value to it, but my co-ax looks so similar, I don't really miss the looks. I prefer the red text on it actually.
And it isn't like the old Bond is going to become a collector's item or anything - as many of those they stamped out at the factory. The 2220, on the other hand, had a much much shorter production run before being replaced by the black one. So if anything, it'll be the more collectible one down the line, IMO.
And if worse comes to worse and you really miss the old Bond - it isn't like they're difficult to find one.
